Bachelor of Pastoral Studies 108 Credit Hours Required Required Core Curriculum 84 Credits Pastoral Studies Electives 24 Credits Total 108 Credits Pastoral Studies Electives CE - 201 Principles of Christian Stewardship : A study of the principles and methods of Christian stewardship. Emphasis is given to individual, family, church and community financial planning and management from a biblical foundation. PS - 103 Dynamics of Biblical Leadership : A study of the preparation and delivery of expository sermons with emphasis on sermon patterns, exposition of texts, and a planned program of preaching. PS - 401 Women in Ministry : A study of the tools, philosophy and principles to prepare women for the varied areas of Christian service- Christian worker, educator, minister's wife. Attention will be given to biblical understanding of the role of women in the church. BI - 201 Biblical Languages I - Greek : An overview of the biblical languages Greek with an emphasis on developing proficiency in the employment of the standard biblical language reference tool in the study of the Bible and the defense of the historic Christian Faith. BI - 202 Biblical Languages II - Hebrew : An overview of the biblical language Hebrew with an emphasis on developing proficiency in the employment of the standard biblical language reference tool in the study of the Bible and the defense of the historic Christian Faith. PS - 102 Principles of Preaching : A study of the techniques of sermon preparation and delivery. Attention is given to definition and discussion of types of sermons and of structural parts within a sermon. MI - 301 Introduction to Church Planting : A basic orientation to the biblical, theological, sociological, and practical dimensions of establishing a new church. TH - 103 Introduction to Theology : An overview of the topical of Christian doctrine. Special attention is given to interpretation of Christian doctrine from a biblical perspective. GE - 201 English Composition : A course that stresses writing as a process, focusing on narrative descriptive essay. The goal is to develop fluency, coherence, style and effectiveness. |
