Academic Exclusion:

    A student may be excluded if upon attempting 27 credit hours of work, the cumulative grade point average is less that 1.75 and the grade point average for the current quarter is less than 2.0. If a student is excluded he or she may be reinstated after one quarter upon recommendation of the Academic Dean.

Academic Integrity:

    A)   Plagiarism:     According to the American Heritage Dictionary, 2nd College Edition, plagiarism is defined as taking and using "as one's own, the writings or ideas of another." Plagarism shall include failure to use quotation marks or other conventional markings around material quoted from another source. Plagarism shall also include paraphrasing a specific passage from a source without indicating accurately what that source is. Plagiarism shall further include letting another person compose or rewrite a student's written assignment.

    B) Falsifying Information:    Falsifying information shall include forging a proctor's name; submitting another person's work as your own,or providing false or misleading documentation in a course, on an examination, assessment or aplication.

    C)   Other Forms of Academic Dishonesty:    During examination, academic dishonesty shall include referring to written information not specifically condoned by the instructor or syllabus. It shall further include receiving written or oral information from a fellow student or proctor. Academic dishonesty shall include stealing, buying, selling, or transmitting a copy of any examination.

    Any student proven to have committed any of the above will receive an "F" for the course and will receive an academic warning. If the student is proven to have been guilty a second time, he/she will be dismissed.

Academic Probation:
    A student will be placed on academic probation if the cumulative grade point average is less than 1.75 and the grade point average for the current quarter is less than 2.0. The cumulative grade point average will include grades earned during the quarter for which the report is being prepared.

    A student on probation will not be able to take any more than the minimum credit hours as recommended by the Academic Dean. Any student on probationary status must achieve a minimum 2.0 GPA in the next grading quarter. Students failing to achieve a 2.0 GPA in the next grading quarter will be subject to dismissal from QCBC, however may be readmitted after one quarter with recommendation of the Academic Dean.

Application for Degrees:
    Students who expect to be candidates for degrees within the next two quarters should file with the Registrar their application for the degree. Forms will be available at the Registrar's Office upon request. After filing the application, for the degree, the student will be expected to keep the Registrar informed of any changes in his or her program.

    Degrees will not be issued to students owing any money to Queen City Bible College, which are paid due at the time of graduation.

Attendance and Progress:

   1. Each absence from a regular class, by whatever authority granted, is still a recorded absence on the student's record.
   2. Even though a student has an excused absence, it will not be construed to excuse the student from required work.
   3. Queen City Bible College makes no provision for class "cuts." Any unexplained or unacceptable absence from class is justification for a grade deduction.
   4. The student's absences may not exceed 3 in a 4 credit hour course. Those students exceeding these limits will fail the course.
   5. Three (3) unexcused tardies constitute one absence. Lateness in excess of ten minutes, unless excused, constitutes an absence. Students leaving class early should have the permission of the instuctor.
   6. A record will be kept of the progress of each student by the faculty and a report turned in to the Academic Dean's office.
   7. Classes missed may be made up at the discretion of the instructor. However, unexcused absences cannot be made up. Students dismissed because of unexcused absences must take applicaton to reenroll the following quarter. Excessive absences will result in one (1) numerical point deduction from the final grade for each such absence.

Auditing:  
    Auditing students attend the regular classes offered by the college with the option of submitting completed course assignments. Students auditing a class will not be given grades and their attendance will not be checked. A student may not change to credit bearing status after the last day to enter a course for credit has been passed, even if the student has been regularly auditing the class. "AU" will appear on the student's transcript (rather than a grade) for any classes, which have been audited. The fee of auditing a class is one-half the normal tuition rate per credit hour.

Authority of the Instructor:
    The instructor is an absolute charge of the class at alltmes. Assignments and regulations established by the instructors shall be diligently followed.

Biblical Focus n the Curriculum:
    Queen City Bible College is committed to all its graduates having a solid foundation in Bible and theology. At Queen City Bible College, the curriculum is designed to equip each student is biblically competent and theologically sound in their understanding of the Bible.
    Queen City Bible College reserves the right to administer a basic biblical assessment for students with an unrelated undergraduate degree(s).

Cancellation of the Scheduled Courses:

    Queen City Bible College reserves the right to cancel scheduled courses if the number of students registered for the course is insufficient to warrant the course offering.

Change in Registration:
    During registration period, a student has the privilege of making an approved change of schedule without payment of a fee. Routine changes must be approved by the Academic Dean. After the registration period, a fee of $10.00 will be charged for all change of schedules except those initiated by the instructor.

    A student is not excused frm attending a course he or she wishes to discontinue until this fee has been paid and the approval of the Academic Dean has been obtained. No new course may be added after the second week of classes.

    A course dropped between the third (3rd) and the sixth (6th) week of class will carry the grade "WP" (withdrew passing) or "WF" (withdrew failing). The WF grade is counted as a punitive grade on the student's record. Courses dropped after the 6th week will carry the grade of "F", except in the case of prolonged illness.

Chapel
    Chapel services are conducted each MONTH of the academic year. All students are required to attend all chapel services.  Chapel is to be treated as a class and all policies regarding attendance and tardiness will apply.

Course Substitution:
    Any substitutions of, changes in or exceptions to courses, which are required for the granting of a degree from Queen City Bible College, must be approved by the Academic Dean.

Directed Study:
    For students needing courses for which the demand is insufficient to justify a regular class, for student having irreconcilable schedule conflicts, and for superior students capable of completing additional independent work, provisions are commonly made by colleges under such headings a "directed reading," "directed research," or "directed study." At Queen City Bible College, the latter term is used.

    Directed Study is subject to the following limitations:


   1. All courses so taken must be individually approved by the Academic Dean.
   2. Permission is not granted if the course is available in a regular class at a period open to the student.
   3. The consent of the instructor must be secured in writing.
   4. The instructor will meet with the student each week in order to receive reports to make assignments.
   5. Under the provisions of the Veterans Administration (VA), bachelor degree level courses do not qualify for VA benefits.

Examination:

    Examinations and normal class participation are mandatory and should be completed on a schedule, as outlined by the instructor; Late or make up tests will be administered only for absences excused by the instructor.

Inclement Weather:

The school's policy for inclement weather or weather-related emergencies is that classes are cancelled only when it is reported by the Administration Office of the college. To find out if the school is closed you should:

   1. Visit the website www.queencitybc.org for school closings.
   2. Call the Queen City Bible College Office at 704.522.6480 X 124 three hours before the start of your class.
   3. Call the college office and listen for the recording instructing you as to the opening and closing of classes.  
   4. View local television stations-WBT & WSOC- for college openings or closings.

Incomplete:
    A grade of "I" (incomplete) may be given by an instructor upon approval of the Academic Dean if the student has not completed all of the requirements for a course. Incomplete grades must be completed within thirty (30) days of the final exam; will involve a 5 point reduction from the final grade; must be requested in writing two (2) weeks prior to the scheduled final exam date; and must have the written approval of the Dean and the instructor. The incomplete will automatically be changed to a grade of "F" if the remaining work has not been completed within 30 days of the final exam.

Life Credits:
    Queen City Bible College recognizes that the full-time Christian service is an on-going educational process and therefor may offer hours of credit for each year spent in full-time Christian service. The number of credit hours given is left solely to the discretion of the Academic Dean. Students wishing to have life experience credits assigned to his or her record must make a written request at the time of registration and complete the life credits application. No one will receive more than 10% of the degree requirements in life credits.

Purchase of Books:

    All textbooks are the responsibility of the student. Students should obtain the required textbook prior to the first scheduled class.
    Most textbooks are available for purchase from Queen City Bible College. Books should be purchased on or before the first class.

Repeating a Course:
    When a student elects to repeat a course, only the grade received for the second time the course was taken will be counted in the computtion of his or her grade point average. The student is not allowed to report a course more than twice.

Reports and Transcripts:

    Student progress reports are issued each quarter. Completed records of each student's work, including entrance credits and course grades, are kept in the Office of the Registrar. A student may obtain a copy of his or her official transcript at $10.00 each.  No transcript will be issued to a student whose financial account is delinquent.

Requirements for Graduation:
    Students graduating from Queen City Bible College must meet each of the following requirements.

   1. They must have completed all the courses required for the degree program in which they are enrolled, as outlined in this curriculum guide.
   2. They must have completed all courses with a minimum cumulative average of a "C" or 2.0 GPA.
   3. They must have completed the required number of credit hours for their selected degree program.
   4. They must have the approval of faculty, the Board of Advisors, and must show soundness in doctrine and approved Christian character evidenced by stability, by cooperation, and by zeal in practical Christian work.
   5. The student must have completed his or her senior year at Queen City Bible College with at least 24 credit hours taken in residence.
   6. The student must apply for graduation and pay all applicable graduation fees.
